Our original plan for this buffet included a stained top, but once we removed all the ugly brown paint and stain we realized the top couldn't be re-stained. Now that it has been completely repainted I think I am glad we did the top charcoal. It looks so pretty now and you can really focus on the details on the piece, the beautiful hardware and those gorgeous legs. This buffet/sideboard has been refinished in charcoal, distressed and coated with poly.
