This washstand has been refinished in teal chalk paint, distressed and coated with clear wax. The top has been stained dark walnut and coated with poly. We encourage our kids to help us out, especially when the sky is dark and the weather forecast calls for rainfall warnings, freezing rain warnings and wet dreary days for 3 days in a row. Aileen's boys were eager to help sand one afternoon. It's a good thing too, or else we wouldn't have had a chance to post anything because since that afternoon all we have had is rain, rain, and more rain. And when it rains, we can't sand. Bryson rocked this washstand. He sanded the top in no time at all and he did an amazing job. Who knew a 7 year old would find work fun?? Now we can't wait for the summer, we have a few kids who can help us out when we don't feel like sanding!
